2. HOSTING A SATELLITE SESSION
Satellites applications must be made though the Online Satellites and Exhibition Management (OSEM) tool at www.aids2008.org/satellites. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2008.
Organisations seeking to apply for a waiver of the satellite fee should send an email to satellites@aids2008.org with full details of the intended satellite, including topic, proposed speakers, expected attendance, organizer name and session description. A limited number of free satellite slots are available.
3. GUIDE TO COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN AIDS 2008 AVAILABLE ONLINE
A simplified version of the web-based ‘Guide to Community Involvement in AIDS 2008 is now available in Chinese at
http://www.icaso.org/aids2008community/chi/index.html
The translation - supported by the Asia Harm Reduction Network (AHRN) - is still in development, but has gone live due to conference deadlines.
English, Spanish, and Chinese versions are available at www.aids2008community.org
4. AIDS 2008 PLENARY SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED
Conference organizers have announced the participation of 17 plenary speakers, including leading HIV scientists, community leaders, practitioners and policy experts from across the globe. The plenary sessions, scheduled at the beginning of each morning of the conference, are designed to explore critical scientific and programmatic issues, progress, challenges and next steps in the global response to HIV. A list of confirmed speakers is
available on the conference website.
5. NEW FACT SHEET ABOUT AIDS 2008 NOW AVAILABLE
A new, 4-page fact sheet with an overview of the conference and key programme details is now available on the conference website homepage. The fact sheet includes the list of confirmed plenary speakers and information about programme activities that will take place during the conference, including activities within the AIDS 2008 Global Village. The Global Village will be open to delegates and the general public (free of charge). The AIDS 2008 Global Village will be located at Las Americas Hippodrome, and will serve as the main entrance to the conference venue (Centro Banamex).
