Tragic death of the chair of the Kenya parliamentary committee on health
Hon. Dr. Gurachi Galgalo together with Hon. Norman Nyagah were among the first members of Parliament together with other colleagues from Malawi (Hon. Henry Zembere, Hon. Dr. Hetherwick Ntaba, and Hon. Austin Mutukula), Zambia (Hon. Sakwiba Sikota, Hon. S.K. Mukuka, Hon. G.J. Sialumba), and Zimbabwe (Hon. B. Chebundo) that laid the foundation for the current Southern and East Africa Parliamentary Alliance of Committees on Health (SEAPACoH). Later under his leadership, Hon. Dr. Hezron Manduku and Hon. Dr. Bonny Khalwale witnessed the formation of SEAPACoH in Zambia in January 2005. It was under Hon Galgalo's able leadership that the committee supported the understanding and promotion of equitable policies not only in health (such as the national health insurance scheme) but in other social services.
