The goal of e-3x5 is to provide a forum for dialogue and ex- change of information on the WHO and partner-supported initiative to get 3 million people living with HIV/AIDS in resource-limited countries on antiretroviral therapy (ART) by the end of 2005, as a first step to achieving the goal of universal access to treatment as a human right. Implementers of ART programs, governments, NGO's, advocacy groups, people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and interested individuals, will be able to rapidly share information and experiences, discuss strategies, problems and successes, and learn through action as we address this critical public health emergency. Starting subscription to e-3x5 is very simple. 1. Send an e-mail to: e-3x5-join@healthnet.org without any subjects and body of the message, or, 2. go to: http://list.healthnet.org/mailman/listinfo/e-3x5 and follow the instructions there. If you are already a member of e-3x5, please simply disregard this message. In November, 2003, WHO and UNAIDS co-sponsored a consultation meeting in Lusaka, Zambia. The report of this meeting "Emergency scale-up of antiretroviral therapy in resource-limited settings: Technical and operational recommendations to achieve 3 by 5", has been finalized and posted on the web sites.
