AN URGENT CALL TO CIVIL SOCIETY TO ADVOCATE FOR
INCREASED FUNDING TO THE GLOBAL FUND TO FIGHT
AIDS, TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIA
Author(s): Fund the Fund
Produced by: Fund the Fund (2003)
This advocacy kit is aimed at civil society organizations
(including nongovernmental, community-based, people living
with the diseases, faith-based, and trade unions) to
promote their advocacy for increased investment in the
Global Fund.
It contains:
* a calendar of relevant events and activities
* a 'backgrounder': What is the history of the Global
Fund? And why do we need a Global Fund? What is the
Fund's history? What is the Fund's future?
* tips and suggestions on strategies and activities
organisations might use to campaign for the future of the
Global Fund
* a fact sheet about the Global Fund and its funding crisis
to give to or send to government ministers, leaders and
other people who have influence. It can be adapted for work
at country level
* a draft 'sign up' letter, for you to use (or adapt) to
send to national governments, registering an organisation's
concern about the Global Fund
* a list of resources you can use or refer to for more
information about the Global Fund and the 'Fund the Fund'
campaign
