2003 Awards for Action on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS 2003 Awards for Action on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights Nominations may be submitted in English, French or Spanish and must be received on or before 20 JUNE 2003. Established by the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and Human Rights Watch, the Awards for Action on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights recognize individuals or organizations for excellence and long-term commitment to defending the human rights of those most vulnerable to and affected by HIV/AIDS. An award will be presented annually to a person or organization in each of two categories: - a person residing in Canada or a non-profit organization based in Canada; - a person or non-profit organization from another country. The 2002 Awards were presented to the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU) and to Dr. Wan Yanhai, President, AIZHIXING Institute of Health Education, Beijing, China. The awards will be presented in September 2003 during the opening plenary of the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network's Annual General Meeting in Montréal.
