Each year, the congress is hosted by a National Health Research Institute in collaboration with other institutions interested in undertaking health related activities. The congress provides a forum for scientists from all over the world to meet and disseminate information emanating from their research activities. During the Congress, various tropical health issues are discussed in keynote addresses, special symposia, and scientific sessions both oral and poster forms. The congress also brings together various cadres from decision and policy makers, medical practitioners, other health workers, international donor agencies, related NGOs, institutional managers etc to discuss recent trends in health care delivery and emerging and re-emerging health problems. The Congress acts as a training ground for young scientists through interaction with their peers. For the purpose of conducting the 24th African Health Sciences Congress in Addis Ababa, a national committee comprised of research institutes, higher learning institutions, professional associations, government & non-government organizations as well as UN agencies is delegated. Payment should be in USD either by International Money Order or bank draft. Upon payment, kindly notify the Secretariat well in advance. The Secretariat will send a confirmation of receipt to each registered participant whose payment has been received with the completed registration form. This confirmation letter must be presented as proof of payment at the Congress registration desk, during registration. Ethiopian residents may pay for registration in Ethiopian Birr. Online registration is also available. Refunds for cancellation of Congress registration must be claimed in writing to the Secretariat and administration charge of 20% will be deducted. Limited number of sponsorships will be available for young African participants whose abstracts will be accepted for presentation.
