The Embassy of Ireland - Ireland Aid is seeking to fill the following
position: Health and HIV/AIDS Adviser/Manager
The incumbent will be expected to advise the Development Attache on
technical aspects of the Health and HIV/AIDS programme. The advice will
involve analysis of current sector policy debates and developments, both
within South Africa and beyond.
Core competencies required
*An understanding of the political, economic, social and cultural
environments in which the Health and HIV/AIDS sector operates in South
Africa
*Good understanding of Health and HIV/AIDS policy and practice in South
Africa and internationally
*Ability to assess how developments in the sector affect Ireland Aid's
objectives on quality,access, and equity
*Ability to work as part of a team and take a lead where appropriate
*Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English
*Willingness to travel within South Africa and flexibility to respond to
various work demands
Qualifications and Experience
*A degree in a health discipline (preferably a post graduate qualification
in Health planning and management OR Public health)
*At least 5 years experience working at a senior level in the health
sector in South Africa
*Experience in working with HIV/AIDS programme in the NGO sector(added
advantage)
*Experience in working with international development cooperation
*Experience in project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation
Remuneration
R220 000- R300 000 all inclusive package, on the basis of qualifications
and experience
